PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
2015 (Montreal/Columbus): McInerney made five appearances for Crew SC after being acquired on August 4, 2015 from the Montreal Impact in exchange for Columbus’ natural Second Round selection in the 2016 MLS SuperDraft, scoring two goals and one assist for the Black & Gold. He came on for his Crew SC debut in second half stoppage time at Colorado (August 8) and he scored his first Black & Gold goal against Sporting Kansas City (August 22) in the 88th minute, winning the match for Crew SC. On Decision Day against D.C. United (October 25), he started for Crew SC while scoring one goal and registering one assist. McInerney made two appearances in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs for Columbus. McInerney did not make an appearance in the 2015 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, having joined Crew SC following the conclusion of its tournament run. Before joining Columbus, the forward made 17 appearances (13 starts) for Montreal, scoring four goals. In the Impact’s run to the 2014-15 Scotiabank CONCACAF Champions League Final, he scored three goals in five appearances (two starts), including goals in the second leg of both the Semifinal against Alajuelense and in the Final against Club America.
2014 (Philadelphia/Montreal): McInerney started the season with Philadelphia, recording one goal and one assist in four matches before being traded to the Montreal Impact on April 4 in exchange for forward Andrew Wenger. With Montreal, McInerney made 26 appearances (21 starts), equaling his career-best for starts with a combined 25 on the season. He scored seven goals and added one assist for the Impact. He also helped the club win the 2014 Amway Canadian Championship, finishing the tournament as its leading goal-scorer with three goals in four games.
2013 (Philadelphia): Experienced his breakout campaign for Philadelphia with a career-best 12 goals, including 10 in his first 14 matches played. He once again led the club in goals and finished tied for seventh in MLS. McInerney established career-highs in appearances (31) and starts (25) and was named to the 2012 MLS All-Star Game in Kansas City against AS Roma. He was named the MLS Player of the Month in both April and May.
2012 (Philadelphia): Set then career-highs in appearances (25), starts (18) and goals (eight) in his third season with Philadelphia, leading the team in tallies. He also finished second on the club with three assists, notching his first-ever helper as part of a two-assist performance on July 8, 2012 against Toronto FC. He became the first-ever member of the Union to score a goal in four consecutive matches.
2011 (Philadelphia): The forward scored one goal in 18 appearances (five starts) in his second professional season with the Union. He helped the Union to an 11-8-15 record and the club's only MLS Cup Playoffs berth to this day, and he played in both Eastern Conference Semifinal matches against the Houston Dynamo, starting one.
2010 (Philadelphia): McInerney entered MLS after being drafted by the Philadelphia Union in the First Round, seventh overall, at the 2010 MLS SuperDraft. He was the third-ever draft choice by the Union, following Danny Mwanga and Amobi Okugo. He made his professional debut on March 25, 2010 in the Union's inaugural match, coming on in the 78th minute as a substitute. He scored his first goal on May 1, 2010 at LA and finished the season with three tallies.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
McInerney was called-up by United States Men's National Team head coach Jürgen Klinsmann for the final 23-man roster at the 2013 CONCACAF Gold Cup Group Stage, his first Senior Team call-up. Prior to that, he made appearances for the U.S. Under-23, U-20 and U-17 sides. He scored 11 goals in 15 games with the U-17s, including two at the 2009 FIFA U-17 World Cup.
