2014 (Crew/Dayton): Did not make a League appearance for the Crew during the 2014 season ... spent time on-loan with the Dayton Dutch Lions of USL-PRO ... made 17 appearances with the Dutch Lions ... recorded his first professional assist in Dayton’s 1-0 win against Charlotte (April 5) ... made a substitute appearance in the match against Rochester (June 1) ... started matches against Orange County (June 8),at Arizona (June 11), at Rochester (June 20), versus Orlando City SC (June 22), and at Pittsburgh (June 28) ... notched an assist in a start against Pittsburgh (July 2) and continued his run in the starting lineup for the club’s next seven matches ... made his debut in a Crew shirt for the club’s international friendly against Crystal Palace FC (July 23), coming on at halftime at rightback ... returned to the pitch at Orlando City SC (August 31) and versus Wilmington (September 5) after a two-match absence ... did not dress for both the club’s postseason opener against New England (November 1) or for the second leg at the Revolution (November 9) ... COLLEGE EXPERIENCE
Friedman, a native of Bexley, Ohio, logged 56 career appearances in four seasons at Harvard, recording two goals and 17 assists. His team-leading six assists as a sophomore earned him a nod for All-Ivy League honorable mention. He nearly doubled his career high assists number his senior season when he dished-out 10 assists and scored one goal in 17 appearances – all of which were starts.
YOUTH EXPERIENCE
Before Harvard, Friedman was the captain of Bexley High School as a junior and a senior, capturing First Team All-Mid State League as a junior and Mid State League Player of the Year as a senior. During his senior season, Friedman also earned the Coach’s Award, Team MVP (for the second straight year) and was First Team All-State as well as NSCAA all-region. The National Honor Society member was also a member of the Crew’s Youth system, helping the Super-20 squad to a national championship in 2011. During Super-20 Finals play with the Crew’s squad, he was named to back-to-back All-Tournament Teams in 2011 and 2012. Furthermore, he was a member of the Under-18 squad that finished third at the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Finals.

PERSONAL
Friedman is the son of Tod and Cheri Friedman. Outside of MLS, his favorite soccer team to support is the Harvard Crimson and he enjoys watching Ohio State University football. In his spare time, he prefers to read non-fiction and autobiographies, including his favorite book, “How to Win Friends and Influence People.” His favorite television show is “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” Friedman, of proud Jewish descent, lists playing in the 2013 Maccabi Games as his favorite soccer memory, a tournament in which his team became the first American team to win. On top of reading, Friedman also enjoys driving on road trips with family and friends. His favorite vacation spot is Tel Aviv, Israel and he would enjoy traveling to Europe someday. Friedman lists his father, his high school coach and his college coach as his role models.
