2019 (Columbus): David Accam has made 14 appearances (six starts as a left midfielder, one start as a left winger, one start as a right midfielder) for Crew SC in 2019, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He made his 2019 regular-season and Crew SC debut during a home match against Los Angeles FC (May 11), coming in as a substitute for Robinho in the 66th minute. Accam registered his first assist for the Black & Gold during a home contest against New York City FC (June 1) when he connected with Pedro Santos in the 61st minute. He returned to the starting XI for Crew SC during a road contest against the Chicago Fire (July 17). He registered his first goal in Black & Gold during a home contest against the Montreal Impact (July 20). Accam recorded his second goal of the 2019 regular-season during a home contest against Toronto FC (August 17). 2017 (Chicago): Accam set MLS career highs in games (29), starts (23), goals (14), and assists (eight). He received Alcatel Player of the Week honors after scoring a hat trick and notching an assist in a 4-0 rout of Orlando City SC (June 24) at Toyota Park. Accam scored in five-consecutive games from May 6 to May 25, leading the Fire to a 4-0-1 mark during that stretch, becoming the first player in club history to score in five consecutive games. He started the club's postseason match vs. the Red Bulls.
2016 (Chicago): The winger totaled nine goals and five assists in 24 games, 21 of which were starts. Accam earned team MVP and Golden Boot honors for a second consecutive season. In the 2016 U.S. Open Cup, he scored in each of the Fire’s four games, helping them reach the Semifinal. Accam had five goals and one assist in all.
2015 (Chicago): Accam appeared in 24 MLS matches during his first season with Chicago, starting 21. He scored a team-high ten goals en route to team MVP and Golden Boot honors, while also tallying two assists. He made his regular season debut against San Jose (March 22) when he entered the match at halftime. He scored his first league goal against NYCFC (April 24). In the U.S. Open Cup, he appeared in two matches, starting one as the Fire reached the semifinal round.
2014 (Helsingborgs IF): Accam finished with 17 goals and six assists in 26 games during Allsvenskan play. He ended the season with four multi-goal games, including three in a stretch of five games. He was the third-leading scorer in the league. Accam went on a tear during Svenska Cup play, tallying six goals in the six games he saw action, helping lead Helsingborgs IF to the final.
2013 (Helsingborgs IF): In his second season with Helsingborgs, the midfielder totaled 10 goals and three assists in 27 games across all competitions. Ten of those goals and three assists came during Allsvenskan league play. He started the season with a brace in his first game, a 3-0 win against Djurgardens IF, and went on to notch three total braces during the course of the regular season. He also had two goals and three assists in Svenska Cup play, helping Helsingborgs IF reach the quarterfinals.
2012 (Helsingborgs IF): Accam joined Helsingborgs IF on a free transfer on Aug. 11, 2012. He made his debut one week later against Elfsborg IF and went on to rack up three goals in nine Allsvenskan league games. Accam appeared in all six of Helsingborgs IF’s Europa League group games, tallying one assist in the process. He also appeared in both of their UEFA Champions League Qualifiers against Celtic.
2012 (Ostersunds FK): He signed his first professional contract on March 1, 2012 after spending time in the Nike Academy. He scored nine goals with Ostersunds FK before joining Helsingborgs IF in Sweden on a transfer.
INTERNATIONAL EXPERIENCE
Accam has registered nine caps for Ghana, making his debut in the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations (January 19, 2015 vs. Senegal), helping Ghana finish as runners-up in the tournament. He scored his first international goal later that year in Africa Cup of Nations qualification vs. Mauritius (June 14, 2015). Last summer, he appeared against Union teammate Alejandro Bedoya in an international friendly, coming on at halftime vs. the USA in his most recent cap (July 1, 2017).
