MLSsoccer.com named Columbus Crew SC duo Gyasi Zardes andCaleb Porter to its Team of the Week following a 2-0 win at the New England Revolution during Week 2 action.
Behind his fifth brace as a member of the Black & Gold, Zardes already matched his 2018 road-goal total. The 27-year-old tallied the game-winning goal in the 26th minute on a back-post header from the left foot of midfielder Pedro Santosbefore sealing the game in second-half stoppage time via Hector Jimenez. Zardes led or co-led the match in goals (2), total shots (3), shots on target (2), and aerial duels (9).
Additionally, Porter was listed under the Team of the Week's "Head Coach" designation after recording his first win with the Black & Gold. Including preseason, the Crew (1-0-1, 4 pts.) remain unbeaten, and with Saturday's win, Columbus snapped the Revs' 12-match home opener unbeaten streak.
