Crew SC midfielder Wil Trapp has been named to Bleacher Report's "100 players to watch in world football in 2016." The Homegrown comes in as the highest ranked MLS player at No. 43.
"To many USMNT analysts, Wil Trapp represents the future of Jurgen Klinsmann's midfield," Bleacher Report writes, adding that Trapp has "been excellent all year, performing consistently at the heart of Columbus Crew's midfield."
The list of players is topped by FC Barcelona's Neymar and includes five other Major League Soccer stars: New York Red Bulls leftback Kemar Lawrence (No. 45), his teammate Matt Miazga (No. 47), Toronto FC's Sebastian Giovinco (No. 71), New York City FC's Kwadwo Poku (No. 90) and Portland Timbers rightback Alvas Powell (No. 98). Players were ranked "based on how compelling their storyline is."
