Struggles on the Road

San Jose has had a tough run away from home so far this season with only one win, back on Aug. 12 when the Quakes faced the Vancouver Whitecaps. In that meeting, San Jose walked away from BC place with three points in its 2-1 victory. Away from Avaya Stadium the Quakes are 1-5-6 and are surely looking to get a much-needed win on the road as they pay Columbus a visit.

A little history

The last time the Black & Gold and the Quakes met was back in May of 2015 when Crew SC traveled to Avaya Stadium. Prior to the lone meeting in the 2015 regular-season, the previous four matches between the two clubs resulted in four consecutive draws. It is no doubt that the Earthquakes will try to add to its win column against the Black & Gold on Saturday night.

Wonderful Wondolowski

The Quakes are led in scoring by forward Chris Wondoloski, who currently sits on the top of San Jose charts with nine goals on season so far. Following Wondolski are teammates Alberto Quintero, Quincy Amarikwa and Simon Dawkins who each have three goals on the season. San Jose’s scoring depth will definitely be something the Black & Gold will have to look out for.
