Lucas Zelarayan was named a starter in MLSsoccer.com’s Team of the Week after his two-goal performance against the San Jose Earthquakes. This marks the second week in a row in which Zelarayan has been named to the Team of the Week, as he was also named to that Best XI for Week 1.
The midfielder scored the Crew’s first goal of the night in the 40th minute, firing a shot from distance to level the score.
Zelarayan’s second strike came in the 73rd minute, as the playmaker converted from a free kick to record his second goal of the day.
The Armenian international currently leads the Black & Gold in goals, with three tallies to his name.
