Tuesday's Major League Soccer Expansion Draft 2016 saw Columbus Crew SC midfielder Mohammed Saeid selected by Minnesota United in the third round. Saeid, a two-year Crew SC veteran, joins the Loons for their inaugural MLS season in 2017.
Saeid, a 25-year-old versatile midfielder, made 50 appearances for Crew SC in two seasons and contributed six assists with more than 3,600 minutes played. In 2016 alone, he made 19 appearances at central midfield, five at central attacking midfield and one at left midfield with five assists in total.
He also made two appearances in the Audi 2015 MLS Cup Playoffs.
The MLS offseason continues with the MLS Waiver Draft coming on Thursday and the MLS Re-Entry Draft beginning on Friday.
