“What first comes to mind is that I’m proud of the guys for the way they fought and battled for each other. To come out of here with the result, we couldn’t ask for any more. The determination that the guys showed was outstanding.”
On Michael Parkhurst's red card:
“I’m going to go back and look at it. It completely changed the game. We looked good at the beginning of the game. It looked good for us. We had it set up. It got ruined a little bit because we are two teams that want to play football and want to attack. It was going to be a nice game. In the end it turned out to be very one-sided.”
On the attitude on the field:
“It was tense. The fans, bless their hearts, they were great. They’re going at it, we’re going at it, refs are going at it, players are going at it. It was quite an atmosphere.”
On a potential rivalry:
“I want to see us both together and play a football match where all eleven guys stay on the field and let’s see what happens. I think that will be an entertaining soccer game.”

On the game:
“I think we started off well — great cross by Hector [Jimenez] and a great goal by Tony [Tchani]. We had the momentum. There was a controversial call, maybe a [penalty kick], but I don’t know if it’s a red card. Some calls I just couldn’t understand.”
On the red card:
“I don’t think he sticks his hand out to make it a deliberate red card. I don’t think he has enough time to put his hands behind his back. Maybe it’s a [penalty kick], but it’s a change of game like that; it hurt us a little bit.”
On rivalry:
“It’s just competitive, they have a lot of competitive guys.”

On the game:
“Watching those guys perform tonight, and the effort they gave, that was one of the most incredible performances I’ve ever been a part of as far as overall effort. I thought it was amazing. I think this brought us all together. You saw before the red card, the way we were playing, what it does to teams. And then the effort, guys were just taking balls off their face.”
On Orlando City’s performance:
“It’s a difficult place to come [play]. It’s really loud and their whipping in balls. I got four guys on me on every cross it seemed like. They make it difficult on teams that come here. They’re a solid team.”
On rivalry:
“I wouldn’t go that far. I think for us we need to move on and go to Wednesday.”
