Tunisia advanced 1-1 (5-4 PKs) over Jonathan Mensah's Ghanaian Black Stars on Monday night in Ismailia, Egypt as part of the Round of 16 in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
Mensah, who appeared in Ghana's first two group stage matches, did not make an appearance in the final group stage match or the Round of 16 match vs. Tunisia. As for Monday's loss, the Black Stars were the beneficiaries of a second-half own goal from Tunisia to level it at 1-1 before playing through 30 scoreless extra-time minutes and eventually falling 5-4 in the decisive shootout. Mensah's career cap total with the Black Stars stands at 60.
Concerning Crew SC, the Black & Gold return to the pitch on Saturday, July 13 at Exploria Stadium as the Crew get set to face Orlando City SC for the second time in two weeks in Orlando, Fla.
