Room - Post-Match - 8.25.19 - FC Cincinnati

On Sept. 10, Eloy Roomand the Curacao Men’s National Team drew Haiti, 1-1, in Concacaf Nations League group play while Gyasi Zardes earned another cap for the U.S. Men’s National Team in a 1-1 friendly draw against Uruguay to round up the international break.

For Curacao, Room totaled four saves as the 30-year-old earned his 32nd career cap. Currently, with four points, the 2019 Gold Cup quarterfinalists sit atop Group D of League A of the inaugural Concacaf tournament.

In short, Curacao is looking to earn one of six open spots among a 12-team list, and from there, the team will look to advance through group play to the tournament’s semifinals in March 2020. Here’s a full breakdown of how the tournament, which features promotion and relegation, plays out.

As for Zardes, the 28-year-old earned his 53rd cap for the USMNT as a 75th-minute sub for Werder Bremen striker Josh Sargent.

Moments after Zardes came on, the U.S. equalized in the 79th minute thanks to a chested-finish from Seattle Sounders forward Jordan Morris.

Wil Trapp, who started alongside Zardes in the MNT’s friendly vs. Mexico on Sept. 6, remained an unused sub as his cap count stands at 20.

On the whole, it was a solid week for the Crew in international play, as five players were called up by their respective countries, including David Guzman and Luis Diaz, the latter of whom made his senior national team debut on Sept. 6 vs. Uruguay.

In total, five caps were made in addition to four starts as Crew SC turns back to the MLS regular-season before the next FIFA international window, which takes place from Oct. 7-15.
