- Caleb Porter is the eighth Head Coach in Crew SC history.
- In his first year as professional soccer head coach, Porter guided the Portland Timbers to a 23-point improvement and a plus-43 goal-differential increase from the previous season, winning the 2013 MLS Coach of the Year award.
- During his first 100 regular-season professional soccer matches, Porter only lost 25 of them, posting a record of 39-25-36 over that span, including leading the Timbers to their first playoff berth in club history (2013).
- Over his five seasons with the Timbers from 2013-2017, Porter posted a regular-season record of 68-50-52 and a MLS Cup Playoffs record of 5-3-4, winning one MLS Cup (2015) and one Cascadia Cup (2017).
- Porter has Ohio ties, having served as head coach of the University of Akron from 2006-2012, where he coached Crew SC captain Wil Trapp for two seasons (2010-2011). Porter led the Zips to one NCAA College Cup, seven MAC regular-season Championships and four MAC Tournament titles.
- At the international level, Porter – who holds a U.S. Soccer Federation “Pro” license – worked as the head coach of the U.S. Under-23 Men’s National Team from 2011-2012.
- In 2014, he was named the Head Coach for the MLS All-Star Team, guiding his side to a 2-1 victory over Bayern Munich of the German Bundesliga.
- Porter is a former MLS player, having played for the San Jose Clash from 1998-1999 and the Tampa Bay Mutiny from 1999-2000.
