With the victory, United now sits atop the Supporters’ Shield race with 31 points, two ahead of the Seattle Sounders and Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
2. New England Revolution – 24 pts. | 2-1 loss at D.C. United; this week: at Columbus Crew SC, vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC
After a stunning defeat to the Charlotte Independence in the Open Cup, New England fell to the Eastern Conference's top team at RFK Stadium. The Revolution set the tone early, but saw their lead and opportunity for three points disappear in the second half. New England is now winless in eight of its last nine matches across all competitions.
3. Orlando City SC – 20 pts. | 4 (8)- 4 (7) win at Charleston Battery, 2-0 loss at Montreal Impact; this week: vs. Colorado Rapids FC
After going to penalty kicks to secure a win over the Charleston Battery in Open Cup play, Orlando City SC couldn’t maintain the offensive momentum, getting shut out on the road and witnessing its five-game unbeaten streak come to an end against the Montreal Impact.
4. Toronto FC – 19 pts. | 2-0 loss vs. New York City FC; this week: vs. Montreal Impact, vs. D.C. United
A bye week left Toronto FC well-rested but struggling to find the finishing touch, as the home side maintained an advantage in shots and possession but fell short where it counts. Toronto kept the offensive pressure high throughout the game but succumbed to New York City’s counter attack in a very physical match at BMO Field.

A brace from Adam Bedell and a goal from Ethan Finlay proved to be more than enough for Columbus Crew SC as the Black & Gold marched on to the Open Cup Round of 16 during a bye week in League play. Next up is the New England Revolution, as the rivalry continues at MAPFRE Stadium. Columbus is 4-2-2 at home this season while the Revolution have won just one in their last eight regular-season matches.
7. New York Red Bulls – 17 pts. | 3-0 win vs. Atlanta Silverbacks, 2-1 loss vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC; this week: vs. Real Salt Lake, at NYCFC
After advancing to the Round of 16 in Open Cup competition, New York couldn’t keep up the pace as the Red Bulls extended their MLS losing streak to four games. In the 2-1 loss to Vancouver, New York striker Bradley Wright-Phillips became the first player in MLS history to miss two penalty kicks in the same match.

New York City FC continues its climb up the Eastern Conference table thanks to a brace from Spanish international David Villa. Toronto’s continuous pressure left the Canadians exposed on the counter, and that’s exactly what NYCFC took advantage of to extend its win streak to three games.

An exciting, yet scoreless victory against Rochester in Open Cup play left Philadelphia still searching for more goals. The Union came out sharp, taking the game’s first five shots, but couldn’t keep up with LA’s consistent attack throughout the match.
