The Crew's 1-1 draw against Philadelphia Union dropped the Black & Gold to fourth-place in the MLS Eastern Conference while Sporting Kansas City's 1-0 victory over D.C. United pulled the club within one-point of the East-leading Montreal Impact. The Chicago Fire picked up its first win of the season on Sunday to move out of last place after Week Six.
Here is the how the rest of the Eastern Conference looks heading into Week Seven:
1. Montreal Impact - 12 pts. - Week Six: Idle
The Impact had the week off after suffering its first loss of the season last week at Sporting Kansas City. Marco Di Vaio and company are set to welcome the Crew to the Stade Saputo for a Saturday afternoon clash (2:00 p.m. ET/FOX Sports Ohio) in Week Seven.
2. Sporting Kansas City - 11 pts. - Week Six: 1-0 Win vs. D.C. United
Argentine Designated Player Claudio Bieler's late tally lifted Sporting to victory as the club hits the form it maintained through much of 2012. Sporting has two weeks to prepare for its next match, a road tilt at the New York Red Bulls on April 17.
3. Houston Dynamo - 9 pts. - Week Six: 2-0 Loss at Portland Timbers FC
The Dynamo are great at home, but continue to struggle away from BBVA Compass Stadium. After falling over the weekend in Portland, the Dynamo returns home on Sunday to face the Chicago Fire.
4. Columbus Crew - 8 pts. - Week Six: 1-1 Draw vs. Philadelphia Union
A lethargic start on Saturday led the Crew to battle back in the second half to earn a point at home against the Union. The Black & Gold head to first-place Montreal on Saturday.
5. Philadelphia Union - 7 pts. - Week Six: 1-1 Draw at Columbus Crew
The Union was the agressor through much of the first half at Crew Stadium on Saturday. The partnership of Jack McInerney and Conor Casey seems to be blossoming as one of the more improved attacks in 2013.
6. Toronto FC - 5 pts. - Week Six: 2-2 Draw vs. FC Dallas
With five points from their first five matches, the Reds will be viewed as a serious playoff contender this season. Two late tallies to draw FC Dallas on Saturday showed a fight and resilience that has not been seen at BMO Field in the past.
7. New York Red Bulls - 5 pts. - Week Six: 3-1 Loss at Chicago Fire
The Red Bulls remain winless at Toyota Park after falling 3-1 to the Fire in its tenth trip to the stadium. New York travels south to the Nation's Capital to face D.C. United this weekend, hoping to have Thierry Henry and Fabian Espindola back in the starting lineup.
8. Chicago Fire - 5 pts. - Week Six: 3-1 Win vs. New York Red Bulls
Frank Klopas' side picked up its first win of the season as newcomer Maicon Santos netted a brace to beat the Red Bulls. Things will get tough for the Fire this weekend as it heads to Houston, where the Dynamo is unbeaten in 34 matches.
9. D.C. United - 4 pts. - Week Six: 1-0 Loss at Sporting Kansas City
Winless in its last three, D.C. United returns home to face the New York Red Bulls for the second time this season. While Ben Olsen's side is not in panic mode just yet, the Black-and-Red have not found a consistent scoring option up top so far this season.
10. New England Revolution - 4 pts. - Week Six: Idle
Soccer was put on the backburner for the Revolution over the weekend as the club announced rightback Kevin Alston was taking a leave of absence to battle chronic myelogenous leukemia. The entire Crew organization sends its well wishes as Alston prepares to fight the disease.
