A hobbled D.C United club played up two men for the final 32 minutes of last Saturday’s match, but Jairo Arrieta’s 80th-minute goal was all that came of it. Offense was difficult to come by for both sides with each club mustering up only four on-target shots cumulatively. Even D.C United head coach Ben Olsen admitted disappointment after his side failed to pick up three points after a lengthy two-man advantage.

It was an apparent victory on paper, but a lapse in play for a period of five minutes in during the second half cost them the real-life victory. The result marked the first time New York has ever lost to Philadelphia at home.
Columbus Crew SC | 15 pts:Week 12 result: 2-2 draw vs. Chicago; Next opponent: vs. Valencia CF (5/27)
Kei Kamara recorded his third brace of the season to put Crew SC up 2-0 early in the second half, but a late onslaught from Chicago, capped by a Jason Johnson 94th-minute equalizer, stole the victory away from Columbus. Kamara and company will take on La Liga’s Valencia CF in a friendly on Wednesday before taking on Orlando City SC in Florida on Saturday.
Toronto FC | 13 pts: Week 12 result: 1-0 win vs. Portland; Next opponent: vs. Manchester City (5/27)
Sebastian Giovinco put Toronto FC up 1-0 early, and it was into survival mode from there. Portland fired off 11 shots, five of which were on target, and held a 59.5% - 40.5% possession advantage, but Toronto addressed every legitimate threat Portland threw at it. A home match with San Jose awaits the Reds after a mid-week friendly with Manchester City.
Orlando City SC | 13 pts: Week 12 result: 1-1 draw @ San Jose; Next opponent: vs. Columbus Crew SC
The Lions came back down to earth after a 4-0 drubbing of the defending champion Galaxy the week prior. Brek Shea was sent off in the 51st minute after a dangerous challenge, but Orlando City’s Kaká would go on to break the tie in the 63rd minute with a successful penalty kick. San Jose’s Chris Wondolowski responded four minutes later to knot up the match at one apiece.

Despite an early deficit, Chicago continued to push players forward against Crew SC last Friday, and the strategy paid off in two goals in 35 minutes. The Fire remain on a four-match winless streak.

Another shocker week 12 shocker was completed in Quebec with the Impact toppling first place FC Dallas. Montreal hopped out to a 2-0 lead by the 50th minute and held onto its one-goal lead for the final 13 minutes of play. Montreal also withstood a whopping 21 FC Dallas shot attempts.

New York City FC’s winless streak now stands at 10 after a deflating loss out west. Real Salt Lake piled on two early goals in the 25th and 29th minutes. New York City fired off 12 shots, but eight went off target, three were blocked, and only one found its way to the keeper.
