THE BASICS
Name: Ryan Hollingshead
Position: MID/FWD
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs.
College: UCLA
Class: Senior
Citizenship: United States
BACKGROUND
Hollingshead is coming off his most prolific season in his four-year career at UCLA, scoring seven goals and assisting on eight more on his way to claiming Player of the Year honors for the Pac-12 Conference. In four years with the Bruins, the Granite Bay, Calif. native played in 81 games while starting 69 matches. Hollingshead leaves UCLA with 16 goals and 21 assists to his name.
FITTING WITH THE CREW
Physically, Hollingshead is ready to play in MLS with his six-foot-one, 180-pound frame. Brian Bliss and Robert Warzycha have said that they would like to find a scoring threat in the SuperDraft, and the UCLA product certainly brings that component to the table. Able to play either up top or in the midfield, Hollingshead is a versatile option in the SuperDraft.
BLISS' TAKE
"Hollingshead has opted-out of the combine, which will kill his overall rating. He's committed to a service mission of some sort in Haiti. However, he is a good two-way midfielder who can play just about anywhere across the midfield. Good ball handling and always in motion, has the physical presence to compete in MLS."
