Columbus Crew SC and U.S. Men's National Team forward Gyasi Zardes pledged a donation to the Columbus Crew Foundation as part of Volkswagen of America's "Drive Bigger" spirit.
The "Drive Bigger" initiative is dedicated to increasing visibility, player and coach development, and promoting greater fan engagement across the country, particularly as youth soccer programs have been delayed or canceled during this time. Zardes joined nine other top players from the U.S. Men's and Women's National teams in donating to nine soccer-based charities.
Zardes' chosen donation recipient, the Columbus Crew Foundation, is dedicated to improving the lives of youth in our community through these core areas of focus: soccer field development; providing funding and grants for underserved leagues & clubs; providing Major League Soccer experiences for challenged youth; and supporting coach, player, and referee development in underserved communities.
Zardes joined Tyler Adams, Crystal Dunn, Abby Dahlkemper, Ali Krieger, Carli Lloyd, Sam Mewis, Weston McKennie, Jordan Morris, and Kelly O'Hara in showing their commitment to growing soccer in the United States, on and off the field.
