Columbus Crew SC today announced that players Lalas Abubakar, Jon Kempin and Jonathan Mensah are set to visit patients and their families at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (700 Children's Drive, Columbus, OH 43205) dressed in costume as superheroes on Wednesday, April 25 at 4:30 p.m. The event is part of Crew SC's Give Forward initiative, presented by MAPFRE Insurance. Costumes are being provided by the Mascot Organization.
The hospital visit is slated to go until 5:30 p.m. ET. Members of the media who wish to cover the event should arrive by 4:30 p.m. and meet a member of Crew SC Communications at the Hospital Welcome Desk to get checked in. Parking is available in the underground Blue Parking Garage (633 Children’s Drive, Columbus, OH 43205).
Nationwide Children’s Hospital is America’s largest children’s hospital and receives over 1.4 million patient visits each year.
Crew SC is hosting Superhero Night at MAPFRE Stadium this weekend when the club hosts the San Jose Earthquakes on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET. Supporters can come dressed as their favorite superhero, take pre-match photos and have a chance to win prizes pre-match. Masks are prohibited and supporters are asked to refer to MAPFRE Stadium Policies for a list of permissible items.
