Crew’s ‘Pride & Glory’ Campaign Returns For FIFA Women's World Cup Australia & New Zealand 2023™

COLUMBUS – On the final day of Soccer For All month, the Columbus Crew announced its “Pride & Glory” campaign, a global soccer celebration, will return during the FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia & News Zealand 2023™. Aligned with the Club’s commitment to advancing women’s soccer, the Black & Gold will highlight opportunities for young women in the sport, as well as individuals who are inspiring the next generation of elite players.

This year’s installment of Pride & Glory | A Global Soccer Celebration features two watch parties for the U.S. Women’s National Team; Community Day, presented by Molina Healthcare, at Lower.com Field; the Club’s first-ever female-focused College ID Day; and a virtual Coaches Education Session with NWSL and The Ohio State University leadership.

“Women’s soccer and women’s sports right now are rightfully experiencing a tremendous rise in popularity, visibility and access, and it is critical that we continue to play an active role in progressing that momentum,” said President of Business Operations Kristin Bernert. “Our Pride & Glory campaign was extremely well received by supporters this past winter, and we will host many more great events around the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup as we watch our country’s and the globe’s best athletes compete on international soccer’s highest stage.”

The Crew will host watch parties at The Pub and Chase Plaza when the USWNT plays Vietnam on Friday, July 21 and the Netherlands on Thursday, July 26, both scheduled for a 9 p.m. ET kickoff. The excitement begins at 8 p.m. ET, when Red, White & Blue supporters can gather ahead of the matches while enjoying food and drink specials and engaging activities. Fans onsite can also join enter-to-win contests for Crew and USA-themed prizes. Free tickets to the USWNT-Vietnam and USWNT-Netherlands match are currently accessible.

On July 11, the Crew – joined by NY/NJ Gotham FC Defender Sabrina Flores and Midfielder Delanie Sheehan – are welcoming female high school soccer players to their College ID Day at Historic Crew Stadium to connect with Division I, II, III and NAIA personnel representatives from more than 10 programs. The event encompasses skill development, friendly matches and opportunities to interact with coaches and scouts at the collegiate level, as well as guidance on the women’s player pathway and recommendations for career and personal success. Individuals can register here.

Prior to the USWNT match on July 21, the Black & Gold are inviting community members, non-profit organizations and Crew Network clubs to Community Day, presented by Molina Healthcare, at Lower.com Field from 5-8 p.m. to further champion women’s soccer while providing resources about the sport. Groups will participate in drills and games on the pitch and receive commemorative “Pride & Glory” t-shirts. Parents and/or legal guardians can register their participant here.

The Crew’s Coaches Education Session – headlined by NY/NJ Gotham FC Head Coach Juan Carlos Amorós, Racing Louisville FC assistant coach Beverly Yanez and OSU women’s soccer head coach Lori Walker-Hock – will occur on July 27. The virtual meeting will provide an avenue for Crew Network coaches to discuss best practices and player development specific to advancing the women’s game on and off the pitch.

Full details about registration, events and other engagements for the “Pride & Glory” campaign will be shared at a later date.
