Crew SC confirmed one positive COVID-19 case involving a player following testing this week while no additional confirmed positives for players or staff were returned following two days of testing results on Monday and additional testing results returned Tuesday night.
Additionally, as of today, the Club can confirm that six players who were unavailable during the Club’s previous matches in its playoff run have now been cleared to resume training this week as the Club looks to secure its second MLS Cup trophy this weekend in the final match of Major League Soccer’s 25th season.
The Club will continue to administer COVID-19 testing each day this week. Individuals that return an initial positive result self-isolate under a strict and detailed protocol and extensive contact tracing takes place. The team has restricted indoor access to the facility for players to limit interaction to on-field training, with the team scheduled to train today (Wednesday) through Friday. The Club will provide an additional testing update on Thursday. The health and safety of all players and staff remains the highest priority for the Club and Crew SC has been in regular communication with Major League Soccer and local health authorities on the matter.
