COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew SC today announced that it has acquired a natural third round pick in the 2021 Major League Soccer SuperDraft presented by adidas via a trade with D.C. United. In exchange, Crew SC traded goalkeeper Jon Kempin to D.C. Kempin played for the Crew from 2018-2020, making 10 appearances (all starts) and registering one shutout across all competitions for the Black & Gold. The 2021 MLS SuperDraft presented by adidas is slated to take place on Thursday, January 21.

The core of Crew SC’s 2020 MLS Cup-winning roster is set to return for the 2021 season. Crew SC exercised the contract options on eight players from its 2020 roster. With 16 other players already under contract for the 2021 season, following the trade, the Black & Gold roster currently features 24 players.
