COLUMBUS – Columbus Crew today announced that midfielders Aidan Morris and Lucas Zelarayan, and goalkeeper Eloy Room have earned call-ups to join their respective national teams for the current June FIFA international window.
Morris has been selected by U.S. Men’s National Team head coach B.J. Callaghan to the final 23-player roster for the 2023 Concacaf Gold Cup. Drawn into Group A, the first of three matches will be played against Jamaica on June 24 at Soldier Field in Chicago. The following matches will take place against a to-be-determined opponent on June 28 at CITYPARK in St. Louis, and against Nicaragua on July 2 at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte. Morris has been capped twice by the USMNT, most recently against Mexico in the Allstate Continental Clásico on April 19.
Room is slated to link up with the Curaçao National Team for an international friendly prior to Concacaf Gold Cup preliminary matches. The friendly against Puerto Rico is scheduled to take place on June 13 in Miami. The Gold Cup matches are set to be played on June 16 at DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale against St. Kitts & Nevis, and on June 20 against the winner of the French Guiana and St. Maarten match. Room has earned 45 caps since making his international debut in a friendly against Trinidad & Tobago on June 5, 2015.
Zelarayan and Armenia are preparing to face Wales and Latvia in 2024 European Championship Qualifiers. The first match is to be played on June 16 at Cardiff City Stadium in Cardiff, Wales, and the second on June 19 at Vazgen Sargsyan Republican Stadium in Yerevan, Armenia. The Crew midfielder has been capped seven times, most recently in European Championship Qualifying against Turkey on March 25 earlier this year.
