Columbus Crew Academy holds High School Training Center at Historic Crew Stadium

COLUMBUS ā€“ Columbus Crew Academy held its second High School Training Center event last week. The invitational event took place at Historic Crew Stadium and featured some of the top high school players in Ohio participating in two training sessions and a friendly match. The event featured 32 high school players.

The training sessions, which were led by members of the Crew Academyā€™s technical staff, took place on Thursday, December 16 and Saturday, December 18. Following the initial training sessions, 15 players were invited to participate in a scrimmage against a local soccer academy on Sunday, December 19.

In addition to Crew Academy player Uce Odemena, Sundayā€™s scrimmage featured the following high school players: Maxwell Deckop, Million Evans, Dylan Kropp, Henri Heyes, Kelvin Mkwawal Said Mohamed, Zsombor Onodi, Gabe O'Reilly, Deven Patel, Luciano Pechota, Aiden Ptacek, Nolan Spicer, Liam Tucker, Charlie Tuckerman and Lincoln Ulrich.

Crew Academy previously held a High School Training Center event on January and February of this year. On that occasion, the event was attended by 39 high school players, with 12 of those players receiving invitations to go on trial with Crew Academy. Of the 13 trialists, Nick Isaac, Andrew Roberts, Uche Odemena and Donovan Williams were selected to join Crew Academy.
