All-Star Game

Breaking Down Darlington Nagbe's All-Star Numbers

On Wednesday night, Darlington Nagbe will represent the Columbus Crew in the 2022 MLS All-Star Game, presented by Target. Nagbe will be part of the league’s elite 26-man roster that’ll face the Liga MX All-Stars. Let’s take a look at Nagbe’s All-Star stats:

2 – Nagbe, who is in his third season with the Black and Gold, was previously named an All-Star in 2016. He’s the only 2022 MLS All-Star who has won three MLS Cups – and all three with different clubs (Portland Timbers, Atlanta United, and Columbus Crew)

25 – Nagbe is the 25th Crew player in Club history to represent Columbus in the All-Star Game. The last was Lucas Zelarayán in 2021.

92.3% – The center midfielder has completed passes with a 92.3% passing accuracy so far in 2022, which is the best for anyone who’s played at least 1,600 league minutes this season. Nagbe’s played 2,082. No other player in the league has above a 90% passing accuracy with more than 2,000 minutes played.

93.77% – Since Nagbe joined the Crew, he has the highest passing completion percentage among players with at least 1,000 minutes played (93.77%). He has played 6,158 minutes of regular-season action over that span while completing 3,370 of his 3,594 attempted passes.

12 – Nagbe is tied with fellow teammate Jonathan Mensah for the 12th-most completed passes in MLS this season. Both have completed 1,099 passes to date. Nagbe’s pass completion rate is exactly 4% higher, though.

100 – The recently-turned 32-year-old has one match this season in which he completed every pass: Week 2 at San Jose. The midfielder completed all 45 of his passes.

51.4 – That’s how many passes Nagbe is completing per game.

90.6% – Anyone completing 90% of their passes anywhere on the field should feel accomplished. For Nagbe, that’s his rating in the opponent’s half. When he’s in Crew territory, his accuracy jumps to 94.4%.

3 – In 24 games this season, Nagbe already has three goals, which is tied for his best scoring output since 2017 with the Portland Timbers. He’s also recorded an assist – something he’s achieved in all 12 of his MLS seasons since his rookie year in 2011.
